   are you talking about right now .. i am only out of surgery 5 days..

   it will pass i promise.i also had a bad time with my Jackson Pratt tube. it hurt
   to i also has a little infection/rash where is was. once the tube comes out it
   will feel so good. trust me. it is head hunger..you think your starving but your
   not. try chicken broth from chicken noddle soup. try sugar free pudding. that
   helped me alot...drink propel water. they good. i am 6 months post op tomorrow.
   i have lost 96 pounds...are you drinking protein shakes..if you have Valinna
   shakes add some fresh strawberry's or cherries. if you have chocolate shakes add
   unsweetened coca powder and always add one packet of splenda it really makes a
   differences..email me if you want o chat about it. i was just like you. and it
   all passed. it will... Nora 96 pounds gone in 6 months

   i am so hungry and i cannot eat till july 4th.. how did you guys do it. i still
   hav emy drainage tube and that hurts .. have a rash from the taping... all my
   insicions ache somthing awful , but i am more hungry than anything.. the family
   are eating foods i love and i cannot eat bt liquids still... have any of you had
   this problem.. i donot feel i had the surgery when it comes to food..cry cry..

   umm, yes. i drink protien shakes for 4 weeks and nothing else but that and broth
   and jello and pudding.....you can have those..i as drinking them for 4
   weeks....nora

   Star,
   It will get easier. Luckily for me I never really experienced hunger, still
   don't after more than 9 weeks post-op. I've had to force myself to eat and
   sometimes drink to get my daily quanities in. I will be thinking of you and
   hoping each day will get easier for you. Take care and keep your chin up.

   i had lap gbp on june 23... i dont feel hungry in my stomach, but my mind is
   telling me i am... the first couple of days was not a problem, but i am now
   getting to where it is bothering me and i want to eat but i know i cant. i was
   told to drink my protein shakes in 30 min but yesterday i think i drank it so
   fast that i felt sick and had to lay down for a while.. i didnt throw up, it
   just made me feel sick at my stomach.. so i for sure will not be doing that
   again.. i hear some of you saying that you have a drain pouch. that must be have
   been from having the open gbp???? I just have 6 small holes in my stomach area
   that the one pouch was removed the day i left the hospital which was the day
   after my surgery. there is some type of glue on them that will eventually ware
   off.... i am still feeling good about my decision, but it truley is hard when
   you mind is saying you are hungry...

   amy,
   i didn't have any drains going home and i had open RNY. i did have 6 little
   drains which reminded me of a kazoo about 3 inches long. they were towards
   the top of the incision and were removed the day i went home (on the 3rd day
   from surgery). i have heard of some having drainage tubes for 3 weeks after
   their surgery. i thank the good Lord i didn't have to go through that.

   It is too bad that they can't take out the part of our brains that tries to
   convince us that we are hungry while they are at it. I know that is the
   majority of my hunger before the surgery so I know I am going to have a lot of
   problems with it following the surgery. Hang in there and vent all you want. I
   know that I will be doing the same one day after my surgery.
